Michelle moved to southern Germany in 1995, gaining dual British and German citizenship in 2018. She has worked as an in-company Business English trainer since 1999, a university adjunct since 2007 and an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) summer tutor in the UK since 2014.
Having achieved a post graduate certificate in Business & Personal coaching in 2013, she continues to explore how that learning can be applied to the EFL and EAP classrooms.
Michelle completed a Master's in Coaching in Education in December 2017, with Distinction, and has now embarked on a PhD in Applied Linguistics at the University of York in the UK. She is researching how students and teachers manage affect arising from studying / teaching in English as the medium of instruction (EMI) in a German university.
Additionally, Michelle has participated on two Thinking Environment training courses: a one-day intensive with Nancy Kline and a two-day Time to Think Foundation workshop with Sophie Stephenson.
All these ingredients come together to inform and build the case for integrating a Thinking Environment into the classroom. Watch this space!
